Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a critical access hospital, requiring dual competency in both ED and Med-Surg settings with active CO or compact licensure.
Details
- Works in both the Emergency Department and Med-Surg/Acute Care units within a critical access hospital setting
- Average daily census of 17–18 patients
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 18:00–06:30
- Every other weekend requirement
- On-call requirement: 2 call shifts per month, covering 05:00–19:00 for day or night call-offs in either the ED or Acute Care unit
- No floating requirement outside of the ED/Med-Surg dual assignment
- Medication management via Pyxis
- Documentation via T-System
Requirements
- Active CO RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Critical access hospital experience strongly preferred
- Comfortable working in both ED and Med-Surg/Acute Care settings
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and ENPC
- Must reside within a 1-hour radius of the facility to meet on-call requirements
- 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides emergency and acute care nursing across both the ED and Med-Surg units as needed
- Call shift hours are 05:00–19:00; if full staffing is confirmed by 19:00, the call obligation ends for that shift
- Any time-off requests must be submitted upfront and are subject to manager approval
- Scrubs of any color are acceptable
