Role Overview
As a Custodian I, you will provide custodial support across various campus areas, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Your duties include cleaning and maintaining interior spaces, sanitizing, dusting, vacuuming, trash removal, and performing special set-ups for events. You will also handle minor repairs, operating cleaning equipment, and outside tasks such as snow removal and debris pickup.
Responsibilities
- Clean and service buildings, including floors, carpets, kitchens, bathrooms, and windows.
- Move furniture and set up for events.
- Perform minor equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Understand and safely use cleaning chemicals, adhering to safety protocols.
- Assist with outdoor duties like snow removal and debris clearance.
- Supervise student and community help during tasks.
- Follow safety guidelines and report maintenance needs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum six months relevant custodial or related experience.
- Ability to lift over 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, kneeling, and reaching.
- Effective communication skills.
- Willingness to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Knowledge of safety data sheets and chemical hazards.
- Responsible, punctual, and professional conduct.
