Post-Secondary Readiness Coordinator

SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION: The Post-Secondary Readiness Coordinator directs academic planning, post-secondary access, college and career readiness, work-based learning and career pathways. The Post-Secondary Readiness Coordinator is committed to racial and social equity. In collaboration with district leaders, principals, and school counselors they are responsible for implementation of the district strategic plan and graduate profile framework for grades 3-12. The Post-Secondary Readiness Coordinator provides knowledge, guidance, and support to effectively intertwine academic, social, and emotional learning support systems to support student ICAP goals and graduation pathways. The coordinator collaborates with building staff, higher education institutions, community and business partners to support student success.
Essential Job Elements
- Provides leadership, vision, and goal alignment to ensure continuous organizational development and improvement that supports the District's vision, strategic plan and profile of a graduate.
- Provides direct technical assistance to school district personnel to develop and implement graduation pathways and increase work-integrated, career-connected learning, and worksite learning experiences.
- Works directly with secondary schools to build and facilitate understanding of model frameworks, master scheduling, use of statewide equivalencies, dual credit opportunities, industry certificates, and paid work experience to support equitable opportunities for all students.
- Analyze, and apply cross-sector collaboration, research, and data to think strategically about how we convene to create pathways that lead to self-sustaining wages.
- In partnership with local educational agencies and post-secondary partners, coordinates dual/concurrent enrollment related to career launch programs to ensure transfer of high school and postsecondary credits.
- Supports the development of clearly articulated programs of study aligned with in-demand jobs and careers.
- Implements systems and partnerships for students to access youth apprenticeships and work-based learning.
- Develops collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships and programs with internal (i.e, Pre-Collegiate), community, educational, governmental, and business partners.
- Provides leadership, training, consultation, and support to administrators, teachers, and school-based leadership teams to facilitate implementation of the strategic plan and profile of a graduate.
- Collaborates with school counselors to implement effective, evidence-based practices that support all students in creating a rigorous academic and career plan to be prepared for graduation and post-secondary success.

- Understanding of development (stages of development) for adolescents.
- Awareness of global, social, economic, and political trends will impact student pathways and the workforce.
- Ability to develop relationships amongst groups with varied backgrounds, interests, and agendas to help them achieve a common goal.
- Ability to work flexibly with others in various circumstances, with diverse individuals and/or groups.
- Knowledge of postsecondary opportunities and graduation requirements for students.
Qualifications
- BA degree required, MA degree preferred.
- Hold or be eligible to hold a Colorado Teaching, CTE, School Counseling or Admin License
- Three (3) years of successful school counseling, teaching or equivalent school leadership
- Bilingual preferred
